| Abstract |
The report was prepared to satisfy the research needs set forth in Historical Resource Study Proposal SL (Ellis Island)-H-2. It is a structural study and evaluation of the U.S. Ferryboat-'Ellis Island.' This study is designed to provide information regarding the construction and history of the 'Ellis Island.' For 50 years the 'Ellis Island' was intimately associated with the Ellis Island story. She transported immigrants from Ellis Island to the United States and put them 'ashore on our land--their future home and country.' The 'Ellis Island' is important in interpreting the story of Ellis Island and immigration. (Author) |
