The report describes the status as of July 1951 of the water pollution control programs in the New York - New Jersey Metropolitan Area. It sets forth information about the ways the water resources of the area are used, the pollution entering those water resources and the resulting damages, the benefits which may result from pollution prevention and abatement, pollution prevention measures in effect, and those which appear to be needed.
