Abstract
The neural and behavioral effects of breathing hyperbaric air are reviewed. The effects of oxygen toxicity and inert gas intoxication are reviewed separately and then the combined effects are discussed. Data from the literature are critically reviewed and then used to construct rough dose-effects functions. The review is limited to pressures of less than 5 atmospheres.
