Abstract | The abstract provides a brief description of the work at EPA's to apply artificial intelligence (AI) methods to control certain cobustion emissions. In recent years, studies have been conducted to evaluate fuzzy logic and artificial neural networks as means to improve the performance of combustion systems and instrumentation to monitor those systems. A mission of EPA's is the application of new technologies to the problem of preventing and controlling air pollution from combustion sources. One area of interest is the use of AI methods to improve the performance of existing air pollution control technologies, in terms of both operating and economic efficiencies. |
