Abstract
N-Nitrosomethylvinylamine is a probable human carcinogen, classified as weight-of-evidence Group B2 under the EPA Guidelines for Carcinogen Risk Assessment. Bioassays have sufficiently demonstrated the animal carcinogenicity although no control data for animal studies exist for N-nitrosomethylvinylamine. Therefore, evidence on potential carcinogenicity from animal studies is 'Sufficient', and the evidence from human studies is 'No Data'. Data available are inadequate for calculating a potency factor and no quantitative inferences can be made. N-Nitrosomethylvinylamine is, therefore, assigned to the median potency factor range and placed in potency group 2 under the CAG's methodology for evaluating potential carcinogens. Combining the weight-of-evidence group and potency group, N-nitrosomethylvinylamine is assigned a 'MEDIUM' hazard ranking.
