| Abstract |
The document presents the research strategy developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Wetlands Research Program (WRP) for Fiscal Years 1992-1996. The purpose of the research is to address the technical needs that have been identified by the EPA programs within the Office of Water and the EPA Regions having legal authority over wetlands. The research plan is intended, therefore, for two main audiences: the EPA program offices and the wetlands research community. The objectives of the document are to describe the WRP research strategy so that (1) the program offices can evaluate whether their priorities are being met and (2) the wetlands research community can determine whether the proposed research is scientifically sound. Because this is a strategic planning document, specific studies are not described at the level of detail required for actual implementation. Detailed research plans will be prepared and peer reviewed before studies are initiated. |
