Abstract
The document describes a simplified method for conducting waste load allocations (WLA) for relatively small municipal sewage treatment facilities discharging into low-flow streams, circumstances in which resources for analysis and data acquisition are relatively limited. The methodology, issued jointly by the Office of Water Regulations and Standards and the Office of Municipal Pollution Control, is subject to modifications as recommendations and/or more complete data become available. Thus, the method is recommended as an initial framework, subject to revision and site-specific considerations, for conducting simplified WLA's.
