Abstract
The document provides information obtained on the manufacturing processes of three formaldehyde-based resins - phenolic, amino, and acetal resins. It also provides information on the companies that produce these resins and determines those facilities that are major sources of hazardous air pollutants (HAP's) based on their controlled emission data. A major source is defined as '...any source or group of stationary sources located within a contiguous area and under common control that emits or has the potential to emit considering controls, in the aggregate, 10 tons per year of any HAP or 25 tons per year or more of any combination of HAP's'. The information reported was gathered to support the development of a potential National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants for the manufacture of these formaldehyde-based resins.
