Abstract
In July of 2011, we proposed several new NOx emission standards, compliance flexibilities, and other regulatory requirements for aircraft turbofan and turbojet engines with rated thrusts greater than 26.7 kilonewtons (kN), as well as certain other requirements for gas turbine engines that are subject to exhaust emission standards. The proposed rule was published on July 27, 2011 (76 FR 45012). A public hearing was held on August 11, 2011 in Chicago, IL. The public was invited to submit written comments on the proposal during the formal comment period, which ended on September 26, 2011.
