Abstract
The test material was evaluated for genetic activity in a microbial assay (knes, et al., MUTATION RESEARCH, 31:347, 1975) with and without the addition of mammalian metabolic activation. Salmonella typhimurium Str. TA-1535, TA-1537, TA-1538, TA-98, and TA-100 were used as indicator organisms. The test material was introduced in the test system in sterile distilled water at concentrations ranging from 0.5 to 500 yg. A spot Plate Test against each strain was also conducted on diluted material at 1,000 pg final concentration. No evidence of genetic activity was observed.
