Abstract
The following studies were conducted on the transport and dispersion of airborne pollen: (a) Development and evaluation of sampling devices for pollen; (b) development and evaluation techniques for tagging pollen in living plants with dyes and radioisotopes; (c) dispersion and deposition of pollen from known sources of various configurations; (d) effects of forested areas on the removal of pollen from the atmosphere; (e) concentration variations of pollen, natural sources with distance, height, time and other variables; (f) feasibility of predicting ragweed pollen concentrations, unknown sources; (g) measurements on ragweed pollen concentrations in a large source-free area; and (h) comparisons of the ragweed pollen concentrations before and after ragweed eradication efforts.
