Abstract |
Theoretical developments based on heat and moisture transfer in soil lead to dimensionless numbers that describe important processes taking place in a terrestrial microcosm. These numbers provide preliminary scientific criteria for scaling the results from microcosms both as a means of comparing two generally similar but non-identical systems as well as for better understanding the real world. |
