All projects presented for certification must meet BECC's six certification criteria: General --elating to the basic requirements of jurisdiction; Human Health and the Environment -- he project must address a specific health problem or need and comply with environmental guidelines; Technical Feasibility -- the technology used must be appropriate for the goal of the project; Financial Feasibility and Project Management -- the financial model must be self-sufficient and include a viable operational plan; Public Participation --t he community must participate in the analysis and design of the project; Sustainable Development -- the project must be developed with sustainability concepts for future feasibility.
