Abstract
T-1716AC at a concentration of 1.9 gm (1 sec. discharge) in the absence of rat liver microsomes is moderately mutagenic. In the presence of metabolic activation the level of base-pair substitution is increased by a factor of 4 I/Z, approximately. No significant mutagenic effect occurred with T-716AC in the absence of the mammalian microsomes but a convincing evidence of mutagenic effect was obtained in the presence of rat liver microsomes. Methyl chloride used as a positive volatile control was highly mutagenic with or without the rat liver microsomes. 1, 1, 1-Trichloroethane is contained in. T-1716AC. However the concentration of this solvent is not indicated.
