Abstract
A laboratory investigation was conducted to determine the potential utility and limitations for the use of commercially available passive dosimeters for monitoring volatile organic compounds at ambient levels. Test compounds included chloroform, 1,2-dichloroethane, 1,1,1-trichloroethane, carbon tetrachloride, bromodichloromethane, trichloroethylene, benzene, tetrachloroethylene, and chlorobenzene. Devices examined included passive dosimeters manufactured by 3M, DuPont, and Abcor.
