Panelists representing government, industry, and consumers discussed the Toxic Substances Control Act, what it requires of the U.S. EPA, industry, States, and others with direct responsibilities under the Act. Panelists' objections were voiced, such as budget considerations possibly being too small for the Act to be put into effect and enforced as it should. Another concern expressed was that data from industry and contractors should be viewed interpretatively rather than simply accepted at face value all the time. Other groups such as consumer advocates and environmentalists also stated their concerns about the Act and the things we are exposed to because of the environment we live in today.
