Abstract
USEPA sponsored a Lead Reference Materials Workshop to review the availability of and the requirements for reference materials for lead in environmental media. The goal of the workshop was to delineate criteria for the preparation of reference materials appropriate to sample composition of real-world materials; concentration ranges pertinent to health effects, regulations, sample type and instrument limitations; chemical and physical forms; and amounts of material necessary to serve the lead programs nationwide.
