Abstract
This report is an explanation of how some proven tax and financing strategies, and their use in various combinations, can help the financial position of three hypothetical meat packing operations, with differing management goals, facing capital equipment expenditures. For the meat packers who have a choice between onsite treatment and sending their pretreated wastes to a municipal system, a method of financial analysis of these alternatives also is presented. This report primarily focuses on areas such as the stunning, bleeding, cutting, eviscerating, and processing phases of curing; therefore, wastewater is the major pollution situation considered.
