Abstract
The topical action of butylcatechol was examined on rabbits, using a 100 solution in ethanol, butylcatechol liquefied with water, and the hot vapors. Butyloatechol, in 100 ethanol solution is irritant and moderately corrosive. The liquefied catechol is markedly corrosive, while the dilute vapors are apparently irrritant only.
