Abstract
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing requirements to reduce emissions of particulate matter (PM) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) from nonroad diesel engines. This proposal includes emission standards for new nonroad diesel engines. The proposal also addresses the quality of the fuel used in nonroad engines, as well as locomotive and marine engines, by specifying reduced sulfur levels. This executive summary first highlights the proposed emission standards and fuel requirements, then gives an overview of the analyses in the rest of this document.
