Abstract
This case study explores the partnerships and tools that have led to the successful cleanup and reuse of the Midvale Slag Superfund site. In particular, the case study examines how EPA used site decision documents and a Ready for Reuse (RfR) Determination to support the sites reuse and how Midvale City and the sites owner worked in innovative ways to prepare the site for development. The case study also explores how key parties EPA, UDEQ, Midvale City and the sites owner worked together to develop an institutional control management system to ensure the long-term stewardship of the sites remedy.
