Abstract
A four-layer sinusoidal sandwich plate structure, reinforced with micro concrete grout next to the skin faces and hydrostatically pressurized with hydraulic fluid internally is subjected to transverse load tests. The plate is simply supported on all four sides, and its stiffness variations with reinforcement and internal pressurization are studied. Design parameters are suggested for the application of this structural system to highway usage.
