| Abstract | Slug loadings are defined as any pollutant discharges which violate the specific prohibitions under 40 CFR 403.5(b). The guidance manual was developed by EPA to aid all publicly owned treatment works in developing and implementing specific programs and measures to control industrial users slug loadings. Technical guidance is provided for imposing a range of slug loading control measures on industrial users and, where prevention fails, engaging in remedial measures at the publicly owned treatment works. |
