Abstract
The report summarizes studies to determine the lithology and distribution of the Ocala limestone and its correlative units within Georgia, to determine the basic hydrology and recharge characteristics of the coastal plain aquifer, and to determine the effect of long-term use of the aquifer on aquifer pressures. Results of the studies are included in a summary report and a series of papers and abstracts dealing with the stratigraphy, physical properties, and hydrogeology of the aquifer. New information is provided on the relation of individual rock units in Georgia and South Carolina to each other and the aquifer as well as a better understanding of the functioning of the aquifer.
