Abstract
Underground injection control regulations of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency require that all injection wells demonstrate mechanical integrity. A Mechanical Integrity Testing and Training Facility has been developed by the Robert S. Kerr Environmental Research Laboratory in conjunction with East Central University. The Facility includes three 'logging' wells, a 'calibration' well, a 'leak test' well, and three 'monitoring' wells. The test wells range in depth from 190 to 1,580 feet and are specially designed to facilitate research into Parts 1 and 2 of the mechanical integrity question.
