Abstract
The report describes the development of an engineering prototype analytical and sampling system capable of monitoring continuously the concentration of beryllium and cadmium in typical stationary source emissions. Data for laboratory tests with radio-frequency and AC arc induced emission spectroscopic systems are reported. Information derived from field testing of the AC arc induced emission spectroscopic system at a power plant is described. Briefing documents describing technology appropriate to the problem of continuous measurement of beryllium, cadmium, mercury, lead, arsenic, antimony, barium, boron, chromium, copper, manganese, nickel, and vanadium from stationary emission sources are also presented in the appendices.
