Abstract
The effects of treated effluent from the treatment plants of the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago (MSD) on the water chemical quality of Lake Michigan is discussed. The rate of buildup of each substance in the MSD plant effluents and the equilibrium concentration of the substance and/or the time to reach critical levels is analyzed.
