Abstract
Milford Reservoir is being built on the lower Republican River in the State of Kansas for flood control and other purposes. The study determines the quantities of water that will be needed for municipal and industrial water supply and for water quality control, sets forth the locations at which flow regulation will be needed, identifies the beneficiaries, and estimates the benefits attributable to inclusion of storage in Milford Reservoir to meet these needs. The primary area of influence of Milford Dam is the main stem of the Kansas River, but water draining from the entire basin affects the quality of water in the Kansas River and consequent flow regulation needs. Water supply and quality control needs for the next 100 years have been estimated.
