Abstract
Brown trout and sculpin populations were studied in three variously perturbed stream sites in northern Michigan. Intraspecific comparisons were made of several aspects of population dynamics including the intrinsic rate of natural increase (r). The upper Jordan River, nearly pristine and with high population densities, exhibited r values judged adequate for maintenance of the populations. The other sites were compared with this baseline. The moderately perturbed lower Jordan River had less population densities and survival but greater mean fecundities for both species. (Modified author abstract)
