Abstract
The report gives projections for the installed cost of fabric filters and electrostatic precipitators (ESPs) for the removal of particulate matter and for the installed cost of scrubbers for the removal of both particulates and sulfur oxides. The projections, utilizing a large and unique data base, project the installed cost of the equipment annually through the year 1982. Similar projections are made for annual research and development expenditures by manufacturers of scrubbers, ESPs, and fabric filtration systems. Differences between the reported projections and those made routinely by other organizations are explained in the light of the size of the McIlvaine data base, reported to be considerably larger than other similar data bases.
