Abstract
The Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) Final Rule suggests certain minimum education prerequisites for Building Inspectors and Management Planners. To become an accredited Management Planner, persons must take the Building Inspector's course plus an additional 2-day approved training course. The course discusses the following objectives: to know the AHERA requirements for inspection reports and management plans; to understand the need for a systematic approach to review survey data and produce a summary; to be able to prepare and format survey data for use in hazard assessment; and to know the necessary records from the inspection report to include in the management plan.
