| Abstract | More than 700 samples of raw and finished drinking water were analyzed for the presence of aldrin, dieldrin, DDT and DDT metabolites. Thirty samples were also analyzed for the presence of heptachlor, heptachlor epoxide and chlordane. At the levels of detection, 107 water samples were found to contain dieldrin, 4 contained aldrin and dieldrin, 6 contained dieldrin and DDT, and 2 contained DDT. No samples were found to contain heptachlor, heptachlor epoxide or chlordane at or above the minimum levels of detection. |
