Abstract
The Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986 (SARA) (Section 209(b)) amends Title III of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA) by adding Section 311 which directs the Environmental Protection Agency to establish an 'Alternative or Innovative Treatment Technology Research and Demonstration Program.' Section 311(e) requires EPA to submit a report to Congress annually on the progress and results of the program. The report presents the program's accomplishments during Fiscal Year 1987 through January 30, 1988.
