Abstract
The document is the second Report to Congress on the Superfund Innovative Technology Evaluation (SITE) Program. The report summarizes the progress, accomplishments, and results of the SITE Program through 1988. Field demonstrations for eight projects have been completed since publication of the first report. The second Report to Congress focuses on the completed demonstrations and provides performance data and results. The process used to assess the economic feasibility of each demonstration is presented. The report also describes the progress of the components that were initiated during the first year of the program and the two components implemented during this past year. Another difference between the two reports is that the second Report to Congress identifies the impediments encountered during the first two years of the program and describes the refinements that EPA has implemented to address these problems and improve the effectiveness of the SITE Program.
