Abstract
The workshop on Technologies and Innovative Solutions for Harvesting and Nonpotable Use of Rain and Stormwater in Urban Settings was held on April 2425, 2013, in Cincinnati, Ohio. The purpose of this workshop was to identify: (1) innovative strategies currently being employed for the use of urban rain and stormwater; (2) water quality characteristics and standards that are protective of public health; (3) barriers and challenges to use of rain and stormwater; (4) technology gaps, needs and opportunities for innovative solutions, including those requiring further research and development; and (5) potential opportunities for collaboration among workshop participants and regional companies interested in local and national rain and stormwater use markets. Approximately 100 individuals attended. This document contains summaries of presentations, questions and answers, and discussion sessions held at the workshop. A list of common terms and definitions related to water reuse, as well as a list of workshop participants and their affiliations are included as appendices to this document.
