Abstract
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) established the Environmental Monitoring and Assessment Program (EMAP) to provide quantitative assessments of the condition of our nation's ecological resources. The Methods Coordination Group is responsible for coordinating methods issued across the program. The document provides guidance on preparing written methods and compiling the methods into hardcopy and electronic methods manuals. The guidance provides specifications on document content and format which apply to all field collection, field measurement, chemical laboratory measurement, and biological laboratory measurement methods prepared for the EMAP.
