Abstract
The National Advisory Council for Environmental Policy and Technology (NACEPT) is a formally chartered Federal advisory committee that is charged with providing the Administrator of EPA with advice and recommendations on a broad range of environmental issues. NACEPT has several standing committees, and one of them -- the Environmental Information and Assessment (EIA) Committee -- examines issues associated with the gathering, dissemination, and use of environmentally related data and information. The report provides a summary of the IRM capabilities and issues that the Task Force has identified and believes must be addressed by the Agency's leadership.
