| Abstract |
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission developed a booklet entitled 'The Inside Story: A Guide to Indoor Air Quality,' designed to provide information for the general public. The report describes the small scale evaluation of the effectiveness of the booklet. The study appears to be one of the first attempts to determine how information materials requested by households actually are used by them. The evaluation examined the share of requesters who read the booklet; changes in their knowledge about indoor air pollution causes, and knowledge about testing and mitigation. The evaluation also asked whether respondents had tested or taken action to reduce their exposure to indoor air pollution. |
