Abstract |
This report focuses on substitute for solvent degreasing processes that eliminate the use of 33/50 chlorinated organic chemicals. The Center for Clean Products and Clean Technologies performed the technical, environmental, and economic evaluation of the solvent degreasing substitutes. The industry partner was Calsonic Manufacturing Corporation of Shelbyville, Tennessee. The evaluations were performed for the aqueous wash and no-clean processes. The technical, environmental, and economic evaluation of the research identified that the merits of the alternatives support their implementation to eliminate chlorinated solvent degreasing processes. |
