Abstract
A methodology has been developed for the determination of ashes to asbestos fiber and fibril content of particulate samples collected from the air. The report describes the effort on development of the analytical method and gives details of the method which includes sampling, beneficiation of asbestos fiber and fibril, and determination of total asbestos by a transmission electron microscopic technique. Included in the report are results of analyses of samples collected near a point source, in urban ambient air, and in a remote rural site. (Author)
