Abstract
The Guidance Manual explains Illinois Environmental Protection Agency's (IEPA) Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) Program. It is designed to assist the owners and operators of Illinois' underground storage tank systems in dealing with releases of petroleum products from their systems. The manual is presented in a step by step format so that tank owners and operators may easily fulfill the requirements of Illinois Regulations and understand IEPA procedures. The manual covers all aspects of dealing with LUSTs, from how to determine if a release of petroleum product has occurred, to how to clean up the release, to how to obtain reimbursement for most of the money spent dealing with the release from the Illinois Underground Storage Tank Fund.
