Abstract
The Federal Interagency Energy/Environment Research and Development Program which is coordinated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency was initiated in the latter half of fiscal year 1974 to ensure that health and environmental problems related to energy resource development would be anticipated and evaluated. This document provides an overview of the Interagency-supported health effects research program from an administrative as well as various technical perspectives. In this updated program review, which is based on the individual task progress reports available for fiscal years 1974 through 1978, the research projects are reviewed and discussed according to King-Muir objectives and selected scientific discipline, biological endpoint, and agent/pollutant categories.
