Abstract
The draft guidance manual is intended to assist hazardous waste management facility owners and operators who may be considering petitioning the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for a variance from land disposal prohibitions at specific sites for specific wastes. The guidance manual also provides the EPA interpretation and suggested procedures to implement the regulatory standards and procedures set out in 40 CFR 268.6. Readers should note that this guidance document is only a draft, and will be updated consistent with the final 'No Migration' rule, scheduled for publication in January 1993.
