Abstract
The report is divided into three major sections: (1) Standards and Status - Presents those air and water quality and performance standards which apply to energy-related pollutants and sources. Also indicates the status of efforts to control these pollutants. (2) Energy Sources - Associates environmental impacts with various energy - related processes and technologies. Compares alternative fuels, as well as alternative coal technologies, in terms of emissions. (3) Regional Issues - Presents data on such issues as acid rainfall, water availability, coal slurry pipelines and oil spills.
