Abstract
This report contains background information on the hydrofluoric acid manufacturing industry. This information was obtained in the open technical literature and through visits to several typical plants. The economic profile of the industry indicates there will be no growth in the next five years. General description of manufacturing process emission sources, rates and controls are the main part of the report. State and local emission regulations and emission source sampling and analysis methods are also discussed. The background information has been used in a simple emission projection model (Model IV) to determine the emission reductions that could be achieved by the application of New Source Performance Standards.
