| Abstract |
This report includes information and materials from a peer consultation workshop organized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) Risk Assessment Forum (RAF). The subject of the peer consultation was the document entitled Benchmark Dose Technical Guidance Document (External Review Draft, EPA/600/P-96/002A). The expert panel was convened to independently comment on the draft guidance document and make recommendations that will enhance the guidance development process as well as the ultimate product. The report opens with a brief introduction that covers the background of the benchmark dose guidance document, presentations on two ongoing Agency initiatives on the benchmark dose approach, and the purpose of the workshop (section 1). This is followed by the chairperson's summary (section 2) and then the five discussion topic leaders' summaries (section 3). The last section of the report provides observers' comment (section 4). Appendices to the workshop report include a list of panel members, the workshop agenda, the charge to workshop panel members, premeeting comments, and a list of observers. |
