| Abstract | This update provides basic information about the Environmental Protection Agency and highlights specific accomplishments in Region 10. It includes an overview of the Agency's responsibilities under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) from site discovery to final cleanup. A National Priorities List (NPL) site on the way to final cleanup is featured. Examples of emergency response actions, one in a heavily populated area and one in a wilderness area, are included. The Brownfields program and other policy changes are discussed. Finally, there is a list of the 73 sites currently on the NPL and the five proposed for listing; a list of the 14 sites that have been deleted from the NPL; and a list of three sites that have had partial deletions. |
