| Abstract |
Hazardous waste types, quantities, locations, and management practices for industrial, agricultural, and public operations in EPA Region X were surveyed during the project. The survey revealed that hazardous waste management practices in the region ranged from environmentally unacceptable to commendable. The report also documents the activities of hazardous waste handling, processing, and disposal companies within the region and the roles of state and federal agencies in the overall management of hazardous wastes. Recommendations for state management programs and interstate cooperation in the area of hazardous waste management are also made. |
