| Abstract |
The Ninth Annual Research Symposium on land disposal, incineration and treatment of hazardous waste was held in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky, on May 2, 3 and 4, 1983. The purposes of the symposium were (1) to provide a forum for state-of-the-art review and discussion of ongoing and recently completed research projects dealing with land disposal, incineration, and treatment of hazardous wastes; (2) to bring together people concerned with hazardous waste management who can benefit from an exchange of ideas and information; (3) to provide an arena for the peer review of the Solid and Hazardous Waste Research Division's and the Energy Pollution Control Division's research programs on hazardous waste management. These Proceedings are a compilation of papers presented by the symposium speakers. The seven technical areas covered were: Incineration Emissions Measurement Methods, Lab Scale and Pilot Scale Thermal Decomposition Research, Evaluation of Emissions from Full-Scale Hazardous Waste Incinerators, Hazardous Waste Incineration in High Temperature Industrial Processes - Boilers & Kilns, Methods for Conducting Environmental and Economic Assessment of Hazardous Waste Incinerators, Innovative Hazardous Waste Control Technology, and Biological Degradation of Hazardous Waste. |
