| Abstract | The Coleman Evans Wood Preserving Company site is an active 11-acre wood preserving facility located in the town of Whitehouse, Duval County, Florida. The site consists of two distinct areas: the western portion, which comprises the wood treating facility; and the eastern portion, which consists of a landfill area which has been used for the disposal of wood chip and other wastes. Coleman Evans has produced wood products impregnated with PCP. Site investigations confirm soil and ground water contamination, with PCP the primary contaminant of concern. |
